Bowen is located on the north-east coast in North Queensland. Bowen is halfway between Townsville and Mackay and 1,130 kilometres by road from Brisbane. The town enjoys a diversified and prosperous economy based on agriculture, fishing, tourism, and mining. Its unusually dry climate for a tropical location, plus its fertile alluvial soil, makes it the ideal place to grow a wide variety of small crops, including tomatoes, rockmelons and capsicums. Outside the alluvial plain, much of the Bowen area is used for beef cattle. Just north of Bowen is the Abbot Point coal loading port. Coal mined inland of Bowen, Collinsville and other towns in the Bowen Basin and is brought by rail to a deep-water pier to be loaded on bulk carriers. Coal is exported mainly to China and India.

We stopped for one night whilst driving south for Xmas holidays. The motel is very clean with lovely decor, tiled floors (perfect for our pet dog to stay with us) and all the modern amenities you could want. Very comfortable and excellent value for money. We look forward to staying again on our return trip. Highly recommend this accommodation.
Great customer service and excellent rooms
We stayed here for four days. The room had been overbooked by an external source and we thought we would be stranded, the owner however went out of his way to reorganise rooms and rang me himself to tell me all was good and we could stay. The rooms were extremely clean and beautifully presented. Would definitely recommend this motel to anyone travelling to Bowen.
Good size room and comfortable stay
Located on the highway just before Bowen it is a comfortable night’s stay. The rooms are nicely furnished, comfortable and clean. If you’re a light sleeper the closeness to the highway maybe considered. The comfort of the unit beats many in Bowen. Close to a tavern and 24hr petrol station and restaurant.
