About this opportunity
One of Townsville’s busiest Post Offices with a full-blown newsagency attached. Brilliant location in a very busy suburban shopping centre on the corner of Ingham Road and Hugh Street, two major arterial roads carrying a huge traffic flow.
Business Story
The Post Office is very easily run with trained and experience staff who can work in dual roles supporting the newsXpress business. This great opportunity is very well established and has been a long-term tenant in a very busy suburban Shopping Centre that contains 11 other businesses and no vacant shops.
The Post office on its own generates great commissions and coupled with newsXpress that has a lotto turnover of more than $2.1m makes for a great lifestyle. The newsXpress is much more than just Newspapers and Magazines, Greeting Cards, Lotto and Scratchies, it stocks a large range of Giftware for every occasion, full range of Stationary catering to Business, Home and Education, Darrel Lea confectionary, a great choice of colourful Gift Wrap, Gift Boxes, Gift Bags and Ribbons etc.
The Australia Post point of sale system is easy to operate and provides informative reporting and as with most full newsagencies this one also uses the computerized Tower Point of Sale System which is very accurate and provides a myriad of Daily or Monthly report in all manner of configuration.
Australia Post requires the new owners to complete a four-week training schedule and Golden Casket have a two-week training schedule if not already completed and be accepted by the Newspaper, Book and Magazine suppliers.
The owners are retiring so make no mistake this is a genuine sale and the business will be sold, if you are considering entering the market in this style of business, to look is a must.

Phil started his working career in purchasing with large and multi-national companies in Sydney.
A family relocation to Bowen in 1974 was the catalyst to owning his own business.
Phil has been in various businesses from Pest Control to Delicatessen/Takeaway and has for the last 39 years built a wholesale business that has served Bowen, Whitsundays, Mackay and the Coalfields, from 1 truck and himself to 6 trucks and 15 employees.
This has given Phil a very solid knowledge of the area from Bowen to Rockhampton and what it takes to thrive in business there.
Phil has a strong knowledge of business and business practices built through the process of growing his own business as well as time spent on State Franchise Council and dealing with the many changing government policies in those 39 years.
The process of selling his own business has shown Phil the real need for a locally based business broker, easily contacted and heavily focused on the Central Queensland area, which has led to his involvement in CQ Business Brokers.
